Was originally named "Orochimaru" and was an AU version of Orochimaru (Naruto)

Later became known as "Benson" due to my love of Benson (Regular Show) (and was loosely based on a humanized version I created of him)

Incredibly cunning, but maintains a rather ignorant and happy-go-lucky façade

Often accused of being "all bark, no bite", as he now tends to avoid conflict if feasible

Stupid overpowered, but he doesn't ever show his true strength in order to maintain his ignorant and easy-going front

In this way (plus his personality), he’s very similar to Satoru Gojo (Jujutsu Kaisen)

Hard worker, but money became his best friend the more it came to him (money-hungry to a fault)

[ WIP/Draft ]

Benson grew up in Iyondae¹, born into a family of upstanding, obedient citizens. When Benson took an interest in swordsmanship—due to his father’s being a blacksmith—his family was thrilled and jumped at the chance to allow Benson to practice the craft.

At one point during his childhood, Benson formed a sort of secret bond with Monosashi Reigenzien—and promised that he would join the Reigenzien family’s royal fleet so that he could protect Monosashi specifically. However, the demonstration of Benson’s skills (after Monosashi had taken the throne) got him banned from the fleet and from the castle. He continued sneaking into the castle to gain a private audience with Monosashi, but was eventually caught and banned from the country. Dishonored, abandoned, and disowned by his family, Benson cut ties with his past and moved to Siteria² to start anew and hone his craft as a swordsman, becoming an assassin/vigilante-for-hire in the process.

Now that Shikyo is a groomed assassin, Benson sends her on missions either for his own personal gain/interest, or assigns her to tasks on behalf of clients. He is thoroughly aware of Monosashi Reigenzien and his Xealot³ cult, although he keeps this on the down low—he does his own reconnaissance in his spare time and collects information from a contact he’s had for years. He is also aware of Shikyo's possession of the Light Xaerian⁴, but he keeps this fact hidden from her, discreetly teaching her how to suppress her powers and abilities in the process of training her to be an assassin. The uprising of the Xealots—and the heinous deeds they commit—force Shikyo and Benson onto a path of conflict with the cult. The two amass a large team of sorts who help them in their fight against the Xealots.

[ Stealth ]

Benson is almost entirely self-trained in the ways of being an assassin-for-hire/hitman, but his sharpest skill has to be silence and stealth. He's still able to sneak up on and surprise Shikyo, despite her years of training—and the years spent with him.

[ Weapons ]

As a skilled assassin, Benson has gained skillful mastery over every kind of bladed object. Although he has a trusty sword, Benson definitely holds a bias to projectiles, such as daggers and throwing knives. The greater the distance Benson can maintain between himself and his mark, the better.

[ Snake Charmer ]

Having formed a blood-pact with a powerful snake demon, "Dorothea", Benson has the ability to bend this gigantic serpent's will to his own whim. His close bond with the serpent has also given him the ability to "commune" with and befriend snakes of all shapes, sizes, and species.

[ Almighty ]

Through means undisclosed, Benson has built up every aspect of his body to become the most powerful being on the planet. His fighting style is focused heavily on subdual, and he can incapacitate anything he faces—striking with the intensity to kill at all times. Albeit a last resort offensive, Benson has the absolute capability of wiping the planet.

[ Student / Protégé ]

Benson brought an orphaned Shikyo in as his own, teaching her everything he knew. An orphan with a troubled past, Benson set the youth on a path to become independent and self-sufficient, grooming her more or less in his own image as a vigilante. As his protégé, Benson eventually sent her out on her own missions to do his bidding. Benson is very careful about not letting "work" and "personal" boundaries bleed into one another.

Monosashi Reigenzien

[ Ex-Friend / Enemy ]

Despite the nine year difference in age, Benson and Monosashi became close friends when they were younger. However, as Monosashi began to grow older, he became more interested in developing a legacy for himself—and became engulfed in his father’s affairs. Once Monosashi took the throne, Benson eventually “auditioned” for the royal fleet, but his demonstration banned him from the castle and the fleet as per the Royal Courte. Benson begins to harbor resentment towards Monosashi when his “friend” does nothing about his ban, but cuts all his ties with him when Monosashi allows him to be exiled from the country after sneaking into the castle to speak with him.

Although Benson despises Monosashi and everything that he stands for, Monosashi bears him no ill will—and greets him with the warmth of an old friend when they finally meet again.

Dorothea

Dorothea

[ Snake / God Familiar ]

At some point in Benson's early childhood, he made a mutually beneficial blood-pact with the snake demon Dorothea. Over the years, the two have formed an inseparable bond—and Benson is now able to communicate with the serpent with ease. Dorothea will carry out Benson's every whim without a second's hesitation, but he only summons her as an absolute last resort. Due to his communing with Dorothea, he has the ability to communicate and befriend serpents of all shapes, sizes, and species.
