Biography
- Jack is an AU (alternate universe) version of Zak Warlyile
- His demon form in Hell's purpose/meaning is two-fold (with a bonus):
- As a sniper and soldier, Zak "herded" people to their death during his enlistment in the military; he was also considered a loyal "dog of war" (hence his canine form and the choker-like collar around his neck, which has a broken chain on the back of it)
- Belgian Malinois Jack was an OC-insert of Zak into a Sly Cooper AU I created (see Drago L'Marque for further reference)
- A bonus outcome of Jack's being a canine allowed me to put him at odds with Alastor for two reasons:
- Alastor has a dislike (and former fear) of dogs
- Alastor feels that Jack is intruding by spending increasing amounts of time with Shikyo, and the former becomes possessive—and prefers that the latter know his place
- I substituted the stab wound from Zak's death with a bullet wound, but the location (through the heart) remained the same
- Jack's smoking habit is another thing I kept consistent with Zak; however, Jack's habit formed prior to his death
- Voiceclaim: Chris Pine
Unsatisfied with his life as a Sinner in Hell, Jack has sought out the Happy Hotel in search of redemption. War and the life of a soldier are the only things he's known, but he believes that staying at the Happy Hotel and "rehabilitating" himself will allow him to move on from his blood-soaked past. He isn't optimistic about the process or the concept, but he's quietly hopeful his stay in the hotel will be a positive change in his life.

Regardless of not being a fellow participant in Charlie's redemption project, Shikyo and Jack have found solace in one another as outsiders at the hotel. Jack finds comfort in both Shikyo's jaded cynicism and her company, given that they share similar views. He keeps it to himself, but he develops a soft spot for her and grows fond of their relationship.

As the Happy Hotel's doorman, Alastor was the first to greet and welcome Jack into the establishment. Their first "organic" patron, Alastor was keen on ushering Jack in so that he could spectate the man's (well, canine's) progress through Charlie's so-called redemption project. Alastor's dislike of dogs didn't deter him from treating Jack as a valid candidate, but it definitely affected his inner judgment and views of him.
As Shikyo spends more time with Jack, Alastor becomes possessive. He doesn't view Jack as a threat, but he would prefer that the canine know his place.

Given Jack's devil-may-care demeanor, Angel Dust has developed an interest in the newcomer. He indulges Shikyo in his fantasies—"I wanna’ yank on that collar ah’ his and tell him 'Harder!'"—but Jack is less than reciprocative. Nevertheless, Jack grows to enjoy Angel's company—and the two develop a friendly (with some playfulness on Angel's part) relationship.
